    The board of education has approved academic calendars for the next two school terms. Parents are encouraged to review the approved calendars for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years. Click here for the approved charts.

  • Central Office Holidays
    The Board of Education Central Office will be closed December 24 - January 2 for Christmas Holidays and will re-open January 5, 2013.
     
    The Central Registration Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following days: December 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th.The CRC will be closed December 24 - 26 and December 31-January 2. We will be working by appointment only on Monday, January 5th – Tuesday, January 6th.

  • Enterovirus D68 Key Points and Resources
    Every year, enteroviruses and rhinoviruses cause millions of respiratory illnesses in children. This year, EV-D68 has been the most common type of enterovirus identified, leading to increases in illnesses among children and affecting those with asthma most severely. CDC expects, as with other enteroviruses, that EV-D68 infections will likely begin to decline by late fall.

  • Anticipated Travel Advisory
    Parents and guardians are asked to notify the school nurse or principal of your child’s school if your travel plans include the Ebola-affected countries of west Africa, including Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea (Nigeria and Senegal are not on the list of affected countries at this time). This request for notice of your travel plans to west Africa will remain in place until further notice.

    The Effingham County School District in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Health Coastal Health District seek your assistance to ensure the safety of all students and staff during the current outbreak. Please see the fact sheet below for additional information.

  • District Announces Online Learning Guidelines 
    In a cooperative effort with GaVS, ECSD encourages students to consider an online option for either courses that are not locally available or for courses the student may believe themselves to be more successful in when taken in an online environment. Interested parents and students should read the guidelines for Virtual School Classes.
